About Powerhouse

Powerhouse is proud to be a family-run company and is looking forward to a bright future in the Boiler business. We have established a sterling reputation in the industry and look to improve it with every job.

History

Family owned, Family operated since 1982.

Powerhouse started as Steam-Rent, a small division of Penn-Jersey Boiler in 1980. Paul A. Stohner took this small division and incorporated Powerhouse Equipment in 1982. The first facility was a double-wide office trailer parked next to a rented-out 50-year old warehouse. Immediately Powerhouse started repairing and servicing boilers in NJ, PA, DE, MD and NY. Paul and Powerhouse quickly realized the customers could not afford downtime, so Powerhouse started providing temporary boilers.

Originally it was just a used boiler sitting on a trailer. Powerhouse soon decided to take this concept several steps further. So instead of used boilers, only new boilers and new components were used. Steadily the functionality, quality and reliability of these rental boilers increased, and we built a network of the best boiler manufacturers in the business. Powerhouse moved to a dedicated facility in 1997 and has not looked back. Although our fleet is large, and growing, and our service area is now the World, we still take personal pride in our work and hold ourselves accountable, why? Because as Paul always says, “It is the the right thing to do.”

Testimonials

“Even though this is beyond Powerhouse’s scope they ran up each boiler over the weekend to make sure that they performed exactly as required. I think the ConocoPhillips Operators are very impressed with the equipment and ease of operations. A job very well done.”
